Know Where to Find Them

In order to catch a catfish, you need to know where to find one. Catfish are abundant throughout the midwestern and southern United States. Catfish like deep creeks, the edge of river bends, and under and around boat docks. Catfish prefer water that’s 10 to 20 feet deep, however, they can go deeper. They are most commonly found mid-water to the bottom.

Know When to Go

While you can catch catfish at any time of the day, the best time to catch them is at night. Likewise, catfish like relatively warm water; when the water is 60 degrees Fahrenheit or warmer, that’s the best time to catch catfish.
