There has never been a better time in history for Chiropractic. Since the advent of natural medicine in the Western hemisphere, Chiropractic has struggled to win the respect of the traditional western medical community. Until recent times, it was still regarded as a pseudo science; however, that is what studies are for and there have been more than just a few.

The Impact a Chiropractor has on your Overall Health
According to a study in 2010 published by the National Center for Complimentary and Integrative Health; the {NIH}, Chiropractors have a positive impact on overall health and many common and sometimes painful chronic conditions. From a 2007 count in the United States, roughly 18 million adults and more than 2 million children had in fact received Osteopathic adjustments in one year. Today, we know at least ten of the localized complaints, when analyzed holistically, and when cured or minimized, affect the overall health of the patient positively.

Most common ailments addressed by Chiropractors and their Relation to Overall Health

  • Sleep Disorders
  • Stress Disorders
  • High Blood Pressure
  • Low Immunity
  • Digestive Disorders
  • Mood Swings from Variable Causes
  • Common Mental Disorders as Complimentary Care
  • Posture Issues
  • Pain Issues

When you view the aforementioned list, you can tie them all together holistically and see the symbiotic effect of each issue. For example, lack of sleep can cause high blood pressure, low immunity, digestive issues, moodiness, and worsening of mental disorders.
You can say the same about posture issues that can cause chronic pain and even tie into digestive issues. And stress disorders can cause all the above.

The bottom line in this point is that even assisting a patient with one or two of these things on the list would in-fact have a greater chance of preventing the other list items.

The Benefit of Chiropractic on Overall Health Compared to Using Only Traditional Medicine
Today, we see more than ever, an alarming trend toward pharmaceuticals, some of which are addictive being used often too quickly after diagnosis. If we refer again to the aforementioned list, we can see that sleep, stress and pain medication have an open door right off the bat. To the average person suffering enough it’s also an invitation to a quick fix with lasting consequences.

More Awareness Is Needed
The overall issue that keeps most of the benefits away from the average person is the awareness that Chiropractic is more than just “bone cracking” in order to feel good. It’s a science centered on cause and effect. In other words the cause in the body of disease begins with the spine as it relates to the nervous system and then the organs. From there it will affect things in some cases systemically.
